Bethany Christian Church
Current Coronavirus Updates
The elders and staff of Bethany Christian Church have discussed the topic of when to reopen services at the church building. We realize that there is a great difference of opinion regarding this situation, and we have chosen to not rush our opening. We have chosen a tentative date of Sunday, June 7, to have our first worship service since the pandemic.
This will be a worship service only, with no Sunday School classes or children's worship. The nursery and toddler rooms will be open, and will have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
The first Sunday of June is "Homecoming" at Bethany, and we believe this is a fitting time to come back together to worship God and thank him for the safety and health he has provided to us all over the past months. We do realize there may be some who will still be hesitant to be in a public gathering at that time, and we certainly honor your choice, and encourage you to come when you feel comfortable with the situation.
We will continue to provide the Facebook Live service each Sunday morning, for those who might be absent from the service.
There will be some changes in the way we take communion and receive the offerings, to insure the safety of our members. Several communion stations will be set up in the worship center, and people can go there to receive communion during the appointed time. For those unable to go to a station, a designated server will come to you in the pew. Offering plates will not be passed, but will be available at the doors as you leave the sanctuary.
For now, we will not be serving coffee or food at the Welcome Center. We will resume the coffee and food when we see it is safe.
We encourage everyone who attends to do whatever is necessary to feel comfortable and safe. If you desire to wear a mask, gloves, etc., please feel free. There will be no judgment for anyone who feels safer doing so. We realize some of us are more medically fragile than others, and we applaud your efforts to guard your health.
In lieu of a covered dish meal on Homecoming, June 7, we invite you to come that evening at 5 p.m., with a picnic (or fast food) meal for your family. Food will be contained to each individual or family - no sharing of food. Bring your lawn chairs, and we'll have a tailgate atmosphere and fellowship together in the back parking area near the pavilion.
Thank you for visiting Bethany Christian Church online!
At Bethany Christian Church, we realize that visiting a church for the first time can be extremely intimidating and overwhelming. Therefore, it is our desire to make your first experience with us as smooth and easy for you as possible. A typical worship service experience at BCC includes inspiring music and a message that addresses the real issues that real people face in their daily lives. You will discover that there are people from various places and backgrounds here. It really doesn’t matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, you are welcome here.
We hope you will consider being our guest, this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for worship. We also offer Bible Study for all ages at 9:15 a.m.
Tommy Musick is teaching a Sunday School Class on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom.
